What: Thunderstorm shenanigans
Where: Islets 1-5
Warnings: None yet!
( Oh, a storm is threat'ning my very life today, if I don't get some shelter, oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away )
what: Sam celebrates his birthday with a pub crawl :3
when: Saturday, 9/23
where: Tavernfest & Trixie
warnings: alcohol consumption
Sam isn't the kind of guy to make a fuss about his birthday. He hadn't even really decided whether or not he was going to do anything for it - anything outside a private celebration - till the week before, when he'd heard about Tavernfest. So his plans aren't so much a party as they are inviting everyone to just hang out and drink for an extended period of time. He might even conveniently fail to mention that the whole thing is for his birthday, at least to the more casual of his acquaintances - maybe it's just enjoying the city's festivities with a group of his friends.
Whatever the case, late afternoon finds Sam and his friends at Tavernfest, steadily drinking their way through the Quarantine's finest offerings. Sam enjoys the food on offer as much, if not more, than the alcohol - there's only so many different varieties of beer one can try, but an incredible assortment of food. Rather than embracing the tradition of historical garb, Sam's dressed like he normally would be - but he's certainly not discouraging his friends from wearing whatever they want.
After Tavernfest, and well into the night, he takes the party to Trixie; thanks to Loki, the drinks are free, and the group is ensconced in the VIP lounge. He'd made sure to mention this part of the plans to everyone; if anyone wants to skip Tavernfest and just come for this, they're more than welcome to do so. Sam spends most of his time in the lounge, but can be coaxed out onto the dance floor for a song or two. Mostly, he socializes and watches other people socialize, simply enjoying the company of old friends and new.
Hello~! This is Claire coming in to play tiniest of the batmans Bruce Wayne from Gotham midway into season 3, before all his shaman training.

I'm excited to start playing with all of you!
what: A mysterious criminal (?) made their move
when: September 22 - 23
where: Market area and Riverview University
Ever since the news reports about high-tech weapon robberies seemingly conducted by a dragon and three mysterious creatures popping out from TV to social media, some of the residents grew cautious at what these mystery criminals will do next. They were not the only ones as the rest of the research facilities toughen up their securities to prevent another robbery from letting these dangerous weapons fall into the wrong hands.
It has been a few days after the news reports and for some reason, the remaining research facilities remained intact and that there have been no new updates regarding the robbery case. It seemed like everything is back to its peaceful state. That is until this Friday afternoon where masterminds are about to make their move.
( Let the chaos begin! )
what: Mushroom collecting/Monster fighting/Mushroom tripping and TAVERNFEST
when: the current week idk
where: Beyond the walls, in the jungle and then TAVERNFEST so, taverns?
warnings: unintentional drug use, descriptions of hallucinations and general tripping ballsness
( I fall asleep under blankets of stars. )
Change can be such a great thing, in work and in life. I'm finding that some - well one - of these changes have made work easier. I'm feeling a little more inspired on the job.
[ Even though he hasn't even said that much, he feels like it is a lot. The kitten seems to get fidgety, and he whispers something to her. She climbs up onto the desk walks across the keyboard, blocking out the entirety of his webcam, before jumping off the desk. He watches her for a moment, turning in his chair and then back to the camera. He picks up his pen again.
Back to work. He has an easy time talking about work, at least. ]
But I have a couple of events I'd like to do over the next couple of months.
[ He even has a few things in mind for both of these. ]
The most important is a Halloween party at Element. It would be on Halloween. Costumes recommended - not required, though.
I don't celebrate it at home, but I know people love it, and my job is to ensure you have a good time. So if you have input I am welcome to it. I am letting everyone know now, and asking now, so there's plenty of time to plan and finalize everything.
[ With that. He reaches forward, about to turn off a camera. He pauses.]
Oh - and these kittens are getting so big. If anyone wants to visit them, I can make time.
Let me know.
[ And he turns it off. ]
Welcome to Riverview's test drive meme! Feel free to dip your toes in on the test drive meme to try out your character in the setting, play out a mission, and get samples for your application at the same time!
● There are currently 15 Character Slots available.
● Applications are open and will remain open until such time as there are 30 or more character slots available at one time. Applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Any applications in excess of available spots will be placed in a queue and processed as drops or activity sweeps happen.
● Providing all parties are amenable, threads on the test drive meme can count as game canon, as the plot in the prompts presented is game canon, and may continue while applicants are waiting on the queue (including spanning multiple TDMs).
● TDM threads do not count for Activity Check, but they do count for Activity Bonus Points, so long as all characters involved are accepted into the game.
● Threading on the TDM is intended for prospective new characters, so top-levels should only be posted by players of these characters. Since the events in the TDM are considered game canon, characters currently in the game are free to use the TDM prompts for logs and posts on the regular communities.
Feel free to use the prompts below or create your own scenario. The setting is built to be flexible, so feel free to make things up as you go.( test drive meme )

Hello, kind citizens! Okay, listen, I noticed something tragic about Riverview and this is what it is: we are hugely lacking in the sports department. You know, like, intramural type shit? Sorry, stuff. Intramural type stuff. Anyway. I, Magnus Burnsides, aim to change this. Not to brag or anything but I do have some experience coaching a sportsball team, so I figured: why not put my experience to good use? Who wants to play sports with me?
I want this thing to be a community effort. If you know how to play sports, come coach a team! Doesn’t matter what the sport is! If you don’t know anything about sports but you’re curious, come learn with us! It’s not about being good—it’s about doing the sports! I want people of all ages, people of all sports backgrounds. Also, maybe, someone who’s good at organizing stuff because I’m not very good at that. Anyway, let me know what you think! If anyone’s down to help out, send me a message!
[He ends the video bit with his hands on his hips Peter Pan style, a huge grin on his face. … And then he remembers he has to walk back to the camera in order to shut it off.]
(ooc: If you have any questions/comments/concerns for me, hit me up at aldigrocery !)
I'm planning to toss up a log for this in early October, probably around the weekend of the 6th. Exploring this ruin will mean running into cultists, their abominations, and fighting off their strange, mind-addling magic. Anyone looking for information on them in the city proper won't find much, but if people start squinting hard, they may see the symbol scrawled in certain dark alleys, here and there, with what looks like relatively fresh paint. So who are these people! What are they up to! Well, that's what dungeoneering is for, right? Besides aforementioned loot.
Anyone is welcome to come, and the log will be free-form--I'll write up a description of the place, the sorts of dangers to be encountered and the info to be found, and folks can run with it as they wish. If you'd like to note your interest or ask a question, feel free! It's not necessary to respond either IC to Rin or OOC here to come along, though--it's easy enough to say your character saw folks gathering for an expedition and came along, if you like.
He also knows he won't know the identity of anyone replying to the post, which at the moment is sort of the point. Anonymity is pretty useful in this situation. Eventually, depending on the answers he gets, he may just come to find the identity of some of these people, but for now, it offers some detachment, some distance. ]
I've been here for some weeks now, and I've come to realize that a few of us have been brought here because there was nothing else left for us. In other words, we are dead. Or we were, before we were brought back to life here. I know for a fact that I haven't been the only one to wake up at the hospital, surrounded by doctors and machinery, and it's admittedly something I'm still struggling with.
I'm not sure what to make of it. It fits what I've been told about how the portal is supposed to work. I felt out of place in the sense that I felt as if I'd reached the end of the line, that I'd have nothing else ahead of me. I'm yet to decide if this place is a new home for me, or if I'm living on borrowed time, but I won't lie: I'm glad to be alive and breathing.
It's difficult, though, not having someone to talk to about it. Granted, I'm not even sure I'd want to, but I'd like to have that option. Perhaps I'm not the only one who feels that way. Maybe a number of us are struggling in our minds with our situation, and we don't know if we can reach out, or to whom. So I've been wondering if, of those people in a similar situation to my own, anyone would be interested in some kind of get-together. A meeting to talk about our experiences— or even if you don't want to talk and would rather just listen to other people's stories, that's fine too.
I'm reluctant to share a lot about my own, so I admit I'm not all that sure about this. I guess I'm hoping for braver people than I to give me the push I likely need.
[ There, it's out of his system. It may amount to nothing but at least he's put it out there. ]
what: a catch-all for routine Perimeter Guard stuff and shenanigans
when: throughout September
where: Perimeter Guard, beyond the wall, etc.
warnings: put any warnings in comment headers if need be!
[ This is a mingle log, so everyone feel free to write up your own starters, or just vaguely list out things your character might be up to, so other people know how they'd encounter them and where/how to engage. Some ideas for Perimeter Guard stuff:
• studying maps and working on map expansion;
• compiling wild animal data, reading/writing reports, other boring paperwork stuff;
• checking weaponry and devices, making repairs, etc.;
• going beyond the wall for a bit of surveying and exploration;
• checking out the shuttle currently being repaired (only Poe and Jim would actually be able to take it out for a test flight of any kind, but feel free to poke either of us if you'd like to thread that out!).
Go forth and have fun! ]
when: this very moment
where: somewhere out in the forest-y areas
warnings: a child soldier meets a child apocalypse survivor this will certainly end well (also cw for hunting/etc)
( once upon a time there was a princess, and she was fucking rad )
