WEEK 8

Only two more have died this week, but it's impossible to not feel the impact of their loss. And with good reason - with the deaths of Osomatsu Matsuno and Daniel Dickens, your number has dropped to ten. A third of your original number; you've lost so many, and yet the game continues on.

The ever-present question is as loud and clear as ever: by the time all of this is over, how many of you will be left?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

As before, another corridor has opened up to you, to the north of the seventh section; unlike before, it seems completely unwelcoming. The Risen's presence is louder here, whispered words and crackles of static being highly audible in this section of the building; between that and the locked doors, it seems less like a reward and more like a taunt.

[That sure did happen, huh?

A few hours after the trial, Asgore will be making rounds. The time for notes has long since passed - he'll just knock on everyone's doors. If they answer, he'll ask:]

Have you eaten yet today? I am going to make something, and I...admit that I do not care to be alone right now.

[Once he never would have gone explicitly looking for company like that. But...well, hopefully it's not just for his own benefit. Does anyone really want to be alone after a day as hideous as this one?

Regardless of how you get there, Asgore will be in the dining room tonight with a big pot of soup and a tray of sandwiches. It's all very simple, meant to fill you up and avoid upsetting any stomachs. He did bring some tea as well, because of course he did.

Not everyone comes to these kinds of things, and he understands that well enough. He's not going to wait for everyone. But once he feels like there's a quorum, he'll clear his throat and speak up in the carefully balanced tone he used when he announced his discovery of what Osomatsu had done.]

If anyone has any questions to ask of me, I will answer them as honestly as I can. I think it is clear that we can have no secrets among us.

[He's certainly not directly asking anyone if they've got anything else they'd like to add to the maelstrom of revelations that has happened today, but he's always tried to lead by example.]

Take Responsibility.

The past several weekends have been an unrelenting barrage of death in particularly disturbing manners; either the method or the number of people, sometimes both, have been particularly extreme. This week has seen fewer dead than the last; however, the way that that one kill seems to have happened...

It's not a particularly good tradeoff.

Either way, however, expectations still need to be met and investigations still need to be carried out; once the allotted time has passed, those doors in the center of the second corridor slide open once again, the sight managing to be at the same time familiar and unwelcoming. The fluorescent overhead lights of the operating theater beam down, flooding the room with bright and steady light as soon as the first person walks in; the seats surrounding the podium circle in the center of the room remain as empty as ever. Four more are gone, their absence notated by their portraits joining the others in watching the proceedings through greyed-out and unseeing eyes, Kogami, Madison, Sakura Matou, and Osomatsu's podiums all draped in black.

Once everyone has found their place in the circle, the public-address system comes to life once again in a light crackle of static; the Transmitter can be heard throughout the room shortly thereafter.

"Fraternal is dead. You guys...you know what to do. Put together what you've found and try to seek out the guilty. You know what'll happen if you can't.

Good luck."

Eleven Patients remain. We'll see how many leave at the end of the day.

In several ways, the week passes far more quietly than the ones before it; the most jarring difference, really, lies in the fact that your numbers have been knocked down so far. You've lost so many in only a week, it's difficult not to notice the absence of those who are gone.

But there have been flashes of optimism among the melancholy; perhaps they're not really gone after all...

However, the Transmitter's words still hang over the group – apparently there's someone among you who's less loyal than the rest. Maybe your actions have been enough to sway them, to win them over to your side.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Friday morning dawns like the rest of the week before it – those bursts of static fire off at seven, the doors to the kitchen unlock, and a heavy silence has settled over the building. However, again, it seems that something...rather unpleasant has happened that's noticeable almost immediately, somewhere in the rooms you guys got fairly early on.

Honestly? It smells like the highly unpleasant thing may have been fire.

[on Wednesday morning, the final 12 minus two would have received a note from Asgore!

PARTY AND GAMES
Music Room, Thursday at 8:00
Food and drink will be provided but please feel free to bring your own

- Asgore and Osomatsu

these two went all out on Thursday, it seemed, spending most of the day planning their party. Osomatsu pulled as many snacks from the kitchen as he possibly could, so there are chips and pretzels, and some cookies, as well as various juices and tea. feel free to munch and chat, the real reason they're holding this party is to boost morale (and maybe convince people not to murder each other tonight).

musical chairs was the game of choice that they're going to start with, but if you have ideas about other games you want to play, that's great! the point of this party is to have a good time! so leave your nerves at the door and come in and make friends]

WEEK 7

Seven deaths this past week. Corrin, McGillis Fareed, Rose Sheedy, Rin Tohsaka, Shinya Kogami, Madison Montgomery, and Sakura Matou have all died. Some were victims and some were killers but in the end does it even really matter when your numbers are so low now?

How much longer will you all last?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

As always, it seems a new corridor has opened up to the north of Section 4, and to the east of Section 6; whether it's genuinely nice or a highly passive-aggressive urging to calm down after this week is up to your interpretation.

However, a reward is what it is, and this is a reward; you may not have done particularly well last week, but all of you certainly did something.

[ It's quiet in the hospital after this trial. Time passes and there are no notes slipped under doors.

The eerie silence reflects the horrors that have been witnessed today. More than any other week, there is a lingering understanding that there are thing regrouping and cooperation will never be able to fix.

There are 7 dead to mourn. No amount of funeral will bring them back.

The rules George has posted to the kitchen at the start of the week have been kicked over. ]

Four people were found dead this week.

With that many down, it's difficult to ignore the drop in your numbers - you've gone from just under two-thirds to exactly half of your original number in one day. And given the way things tend to work around here, there are going to be even fewer of you left by the time the day is over.

Is it wearing you down yet?

Even if it is, the investigation period comes and goes, as it always does, and those doors in the center of the second corridor slide open for the sixth time in as many weeks. The fluorescent overhead lights of the operating theater fill the room with light, bright and steady, as soon as the first person walks in; as always, those seats surrounding the podium circle in the center of the room remain unsettlingly unoccupied. Six more have joined the ranks of the deceased this time, their absence glaringly obvious; Nozomi, Krauser, McGillis, Corrin, Rose and Rin have all had their absences acknowledged in the usual way, their greyed-out portraits set atop their black-swathed podiums, observing the proceedings with unseeing eyes.

Once everyone has found their place in the circle, the public-address system crackles its way back on; the Transmitter can be heard throughout the room shortly thereafter.

"Composed, Sororal, Gracious, and Courageous... They've all been killed. ...You guys know what to do. The number of victims doesn't, uh, change that. Put together your evidence, find whoever's responsible for these deaths. You know what'll happen if you can't.

Good luck."

The past week has been long.

That isn't to say that the weeks before it haven't been; time passes slowly in this place, with almost nothing to mark its passage at all except for the clock in the foyer. But spirits have been particularly low this time around, and it's not terribly hard to see why.

After all, again – over a third of your original number is dead. And what's more, another incentive is still hanging over you.

People have risen to the bait multiple times, and every time they've died for it. Perhaps you've all learned your lesson by now.

Perhaps not.

Friday morning dawns like the rest of the week before it – those bursts of static fire off at seven, the doors to the kitchen unlock, and a heavy silence has settled over the building. However, there's something immediately amiss in the first section of the building - the areas you were given when you first woke up here. Not in the hallways, perhaps, but at least one of the rooms are enough of an indication that things...didn't go well last night.

July State of the Game

Hello everyone! It's time for another State of the Game, and we've got some pretty big news.

The short of it is that Soulgemmed is moving into an endgame state, but this is not the end of the Soulgemmed community as a whole.

I've done a lot, and may I stress, a lot of thinking and debating on this decision. I love you guys as a player base, and you guys are the entire reason that this was a difficult decision to make. You're all incredible people, and together we've managed to weave quite an interesting story. For my first foray into modding, I simply couldn't ask for a better group of people. You made the game what it's been, and let me stress just how much I care about each and every one of you.

However... I cannot continue providing that experience as the game is now. Soulgemmed is a very intensive game to mod, and while I could try to find additional mods I don't think that would be the right choice. It would be difficult to maintain the same level of detail and involvement into events, and I do not wish to create a half-baked experience for you guys. Simply put, you deserve better.

That is why I've decided to move into an endgame situation. You deserve better, and I'm going to give you all the means to do so. After Soulgemmed ends, I will be creating another experience for you all.

The details are still fuzzy, but consider it to be more of a laidback sandbox-esque game, or a more structured musebox, or... I'm not too sure how to describe it quite yet. It will be invite only, and I'm extending an invite to all former and current members of Soulgemmed, though if you wish to move on to other games that is understandable. Apps will exist as more of a formality, there will be a very lax AC with incentives for more activity, and there will be events and an overarching plot, but of a much lower intensity. There will be familiar faces to all, and possibly new ones as well. The tone of the game will be much more lighthearted, but that isn't to say there isn't means for darker subjects to happen.

Also, Miki Morikawa will be your King.

But Bee, what's the timeline on something like this? When's Soulgemmed going to end?

I'm not entirely sure yet! I do not plan on closing Soulgemmed until this new experience is ready to go, as to give players the time to wrap anything up within Nyoi-cho, and to facilitate a smooth transition between the two. I suspect this will take at least two months, and I will keep you all updated if this changes. I am also going to continue with events within Soulgemmed until then, so please look forward to more fun while I get everything situated behind the scenes.

Bee, Bee! What about our characters?!

You'll be able to transplant your characters directly from Nyoi-cho to this new world, if you so wish! Or, if you want to bring new characters over, that's fine as well! You could even wipe them clean and start anew; it's all up to you in the end.

Bee! The narrative?!

The narrative shall continue, and there will be a proper endgame within Nyoi-cho.

And seriously guys, seriously...... I can't being to explain just how much this community we've formed means to me. You're all amazing and it's because of you I feel like I can do this. I've been in RP communities for a long time, and I've never felt so at home in a game. You guys are more than just fellow players--You're friends, you're a community of people that I care about dearly, and I'm honored to be a part of this community. I don't want this community to dissolve away, so I'm going to do my best to keep us all together.
